Tyrian Instant Messaging

IM-style whisper window

How it looks

GW2's chat system wasn't designed for keeping track of ongoing whisper conversations — messages scroll away, context disappears when you zone, and there's no way to pick up where you left off. Tyrian Instant Messaging gives whispers the dedicated window they deserve, with history that survives between sessions and a contact list so you always know who you were talking to.

Features

  • Persistent whisper history saved to disk and restored between sessions
  • Contact list with unread indicators and optional nicknames
  • Chat link support — items, waypoints, skills, traits, recipes, skins, and build templates with tooltips
  • URL toast notifications when another player shares a link in local, map, party, guild, or squad chat
  • Sound notifications — drop any .wav or .mp3 into the sounds folder
  • Floating notification icon that flashes on unread messages
  • 13 built-in animated themes plus custom themes via TOML files

AI Notice

This site and its projects have been largely created using Claude. I understand that some folks have a moral, financial or political objection to creating software using an LLM. I just wanted to make useful tools for the GW2 community, and this was the only way I could do it.

If an LLM creating software upsets you, then perhaps this site isn't for you. Move on, and enjoy your day.
