Cast Away

Fishing companion

How it looks

Catching everything in GW2 fishing means juggling hundreds of fish, thousands of hidden holes across dozens of maps, and time-of-day windows that quietly open and close while you're off doing something else. Cast Away gathers all of that into one place — an interactive map showing every fishing hole, a database that filters to what's catchable here and now, and alerts before a favourite's window opens.

Features

  • 307 fish across Core Tyria through Visions of Eternity
  • Interactive map of 3,660+ fishing holes across 54 maps, with waypoints and your live position
  • Smart navigation — pick a fish and jump straight to the region with the most matching holes
  • 'Here' and 'Now' filters narrow the list to fish catchable in your current zone and day/night phase
  • Grouped database view by collection, each with a caught/total progress bar
  • Scrolling Tyrian-time bar with day/night phase countdown
  • Favourite-fish alerts before a time window opens
  • Per-fish details: bait, time, hole type, recommended power, water type, fillet price, and bonus drops
  • Optional Hoard & Seek and Events: Alerts integration for live catch tracking

AI Notice

This site and its projects have been largely created using Claude. I understand that some folks have a moral, financial or political objection to creating software using an LLM. I just wanted to make useful tools for the GW2 community, and this was the only way I could do it.

If an LLM creating software upsets you, then perhaps this site isn't for you. Move on, and enjoy your day.
